“Rice pudding I want to marry a little widow from the capital…” says a Venezuelan folk song. The secret of this sweet is the slow cooking of rice, milk and sugar. It is served hot or cold depending on consumer tastes. It is flavored with cinnamon, vanilla or lemon peels.

2 Cinnamon sticks | |
1 Orange peel | |

Preparation

In a pot pour the milk over medium heat until boil and add the rice.

Lower heat and simmer.

Add sugar, cinnamon sticks and orange peel and stir constantly for 25-35 minutes with the help of a wooden paddle to dissolve sugar well until the rice has absorbed the liquid.

Remove the cinnamon and orange peel.

Let stand and pour condensed milk.

Serve in individual packages and top with cinnamon powder.
