This punch is an indispensable guest at our holiday season traditionally the cream punch is present in the table of Venezuelans as another symbol of our Christmas. It is a sweet and creamy drink mainly composed of milk, eggs, sugar and rum flavored with vanilla, nutmeg and lemon zest. There are many recipes for this delicious punch, each family adds a personal touch, their secret ingredient and make it unique.
Ingredients
6 Egg yolks | |
1 cup Condensed Milk | |
Skin of half a Lemon | |
2 cups whole liquid Milk | |
½ cup Rum | |
1 teaspoon Vanilla |

Preparation

Place the liquid milk in a saucepan and simmer.

Simultaneously beat the egg yolks with the help of an electric beater until integrating completely.

Pour the egg yolks into the milk with the lemon peel and vanilla and stir with a spoon always at low temperature to prevent the yolks curdle, and let stand until a thick mixture.

When the mixture is warm, add the condensed milk and rum, if they are lumps in the mixture can be liquefied and process until well blended.

Rectify rum if necessary, pour into a glass bottle and bring to the refrigerator.
